We are tiny in front of the universe while, with hook and line, we try to fish in the ocean of possibilities the one that can give taste to our breath and color to the whiteness of our expectations. Sometimes our line is too thin not to break in bringing up the weight of the dark silence that oppresses us from within; at other times it is the hook that yields, torn by the hard crust of what, hidden, wants to remain invisible and elusive.
At other times, however, it is the ocean itself that scares us, so large and immense in front of us so small and fragile. Yet, it is not impossible to navigate it or immerse yourself in its deep waters and rise to the surface ecstatic by the beauty of its infinity and the submerged life that populates it and makes it more beautiful. So, only with patience and determination can we grasp that route and that meaning that are within our reach, even if hidden; which are understandable, even if they seem to speak of another story; which are intelligible even if apparently obscure.

Ci vuole coraggio a essere pazienti e costanza e fedeltà. Sono le stesse qualità che alimentano la speranza e le stesse che fanno di ciascuna persona una persona seria. Minuscoli noi siamo dinanzi all’universo mentre, con amo e lenza, cerchiamo di pescare nell’oceano delle possibilità quella che possa dare gusto al nostro respiro e colore al candore delle nostre attese. Talvolta troppo sottile è la nostra lenza per non spezzarsi nel portare a galla il peso dell’oscuro silenzio che ci opprime dall’interno; altre volte è l’amo a cedere, dilaniato dalla crosta dura di quanto, nascosto, vuole restare invisibile e inafferrabile.
Altre volte ancora, invece, è l’oceano stesso che ci spaventa, così grande e immenso difronte a noi così piccoli e fragili. Eppure, non è impossibile navigarlo né immergersi nelle sue acque profonde e risalire a galla estasiati dalla bellezza del suo infinito e della vita sommersa che lo popola e lo rende più bello. Allora, solo con pazienza e determinazione possiamo cogliere quella rotta e quel significato che sono alla nostra portata, anche se nascosti; che sono comprensibili, anche se sembrano parlare di un’altra storia; che sono intelligibili anche se apparentemente oscuri.
