The emotion of the first copy of a book that is published is always very strong. Think back to the effort, the reasons, the people who have been part of it in one way or another. This time the emotion is even stronger because I didn’t think I would have held it in my hands, sniffed the paper, caressed the cover. Above all, however, the reason for the publication fills me with emotion: to raise funds for research on ovarian cancer. It’s thanks to research if they’re still here, it’s thanks to research if tomorrow’s women will be able to increase hopes of recovery. I remind you that the proceeds of the rights due to me will be donated to this purpose thanks to the ACTO (alliance against ovarian cancer) which is based in Avellino in Campania, but which is present throughout Italy. It will still take a little over a month to find the book in the bookstore, but in the meantime, if you want to help the research, start keeping it in mind. “Ali per volare” (Guida, 2023) is a flight of love and freedom.

L’emozione della prima copia di un libro che si pubblica è sempre molto forte. Ripensi alla fatica, ai motivi, alle persone che ne hanno fatto parte in un modo o nell’altro. Questa volta l’emozione è anche più forte perché non credevo che lo avrei stretto tra le mani, annusato la carta, accarezzato la copertina. Soprattutto, però, mi colma di emozione il motivo della pubblicazione: raccogliere fondi per la ricerca sul tumore ovarico. È grazie alla ricerca se sono ancora qui, è grazie alla ricerca se per le donne di domani potranno aumentare le speranze di guarigione. Ricordo che il ricavato dei diritti di mia spettanza li devolverò a questo scopo grazie alla ACTO (alleanza contro tumore ovarico) che in Campania ha sede ad Avellino, ma che è presente in tutta Italia. Ci vorrà ancora poco più di un mese per reperire il libro in libreria, ma intanto, se volete aiutare la ricerca, cominciate a tenerlo presente. “Ali per volare” (Guida, 2023) è un volo di amore e libertà.
