There is a dimension of being that does not allow for exceptions and for which everyone is and must be fully responsible: honesty.
In fact, one cannot claim to attribute the cause of one’s dishonesty to another; if I’m dishonest it’s because I chose it.
Dishonesty, in fact, depends on an ethical abandonment which in turn derives from a choice… often of convenience.
The point, then, is not just being honest or dishonest, but how much that choice is driven by self-interest rather than conscience.
One cannot be honest “occasionally”, since honesty is a choice of conscience and an attitude of the soul that lasts even when it might not be convenient for us.
In fact, the honest person, from the Latin honestus which in turn derives from honor, indicates a person of noble sentiments, an honored person who acts with loyalty and rectitude… loyalty and rectitude.
These are the values ​​of honesty, the foundations on which its essence rests. Failing this, the pact of sharing between creatures and life is betrayed.

C’è una dimensione dell’essere che non ammette deroghe e di cui ciascuno è e deve essere pienamente responsabile: l’onestà.
Non si può, infatti, pretendere di attribuire a un altro la causa della propria disonestà; se sono disonesto è perché l’ho scelto.
La disonestà, infatti, dipende da un abbandono etico che deriva, a sua volta, da una scelta… spesso di comodo.
Il punto, allora, non è solo essere onesti o disonesti, ma quanto tale scelta sia guidata dall’interesse personale piuttosto che dalla coscienza.
Non si può essere onesti “occasionalmente”, poichè l’onestà è una scelta della coscienza e un atteggiamento dell’anima che perdura anche quando potrebbe non convenirci.
Difatti, la persona onesta, dal latino honestus che a sua volta deriva da honor, indica una persona di nobili sentimenti, una persona onorata che agisce con lealtà e rettitudine… lealtà e rettitudine.
Sono questi i valori dell’onestà, le basi sulle quali si appoggia la sua essenza. In mancanza di ciò si tradisce il patto di condivisione tra le creature e la vita.
