Yesterday, December 15, 2021, a woman has left us, one who has dedicated her entire life to the struggle against abuses not only related to gender and ethnicity issues, but to any power that denied the formation of the person and its freedom: Bell Hooks.
An intelligent woman who faced her struggles with determination and without individualism, a woman who did not escape from the fights and arguments, but who has always used them to mature in the confrontation and determine herself in her choices: Bell Hooks.
Her numerous publications remain as the guide of an independent spirit who has been able to attract to herself the idea of the possibility of reasoning and growing in the common good and for the common good without distinction of culture, religion, gender, but as human beings in search of their own space in time.
We will miss her voice so much … yet it remains the banner of a careful and accurate search for a real and possible freedom for all.
Ieri, 15 dicembre 2021, ci ha lasciato una donna che ha dedicato la sua intera esistenza alle lotte contro i soprusi non solo legati a questioni di genere e di etnia, ma a qualsiasi potere che negasse la formazione della persona e la sua libertà: Bell Hooks.
Una donna intelligente che ha affrontato le sue lotte con determinazione e senza individualismi, una donna che non si è sottratta agli scontri e ai diverbi, ma che li ha sempre impiegati per maturare nel confronto e determinarsi nelle scelte: Bell Hooks.
Le sue numerose pubblicazioni restano come guida di uno spirito indipendente che ha saputo attrarre a sé l’idea della possibilità di ragionare e crescere nel bene comune e per il bene comune senza distinzioni di cultura, religione, genere, ma in quanto esseri umani alla ricerca del proprio spazio nel tempo.
Mancherà, tanto, la sua voce… eppure essa resta vessillo di una ricerca attenta e accurata di una libertà reale e possibile per tutti.
