One cannot give up when in one’s life there have been many examples of courage often pursued in solitude, always with kindness and dignity. You cannot give up when the smile of the one you love takes you by the hand like the loving hand that now leads now lets itself be guided without ever abandoning the direction of love. You can’t give up when the little monster that belongs to you has the right to fight as well. We cannot give up because freedom does not imagine surrender, but only infinite spaces to cross.

Non ci si può arrendere quando nella propria vita sono stati tanti gli esempi di coraggio perseguito spesso in solitudine, sempre con gentilezza e dignità. Non ci si può arrendere quando il sorriso di chi ami ti porta per mano come la mano affezionata che ora conduce ora si lascia guidare senza mai abbandonare la direzione d’amore. Non ci si può arrendere quando il mostriciattolo che ti appartiene ha egli stesso il diritto di lottare. Non ci si può arrendere perché libertà non immagina resa, ma solo infiniti spazi da varcare.
