Today, and it is fundamental, there is a lot of talk about ecology, about saving the natural well-being of the Earth, and this is how we must do it, yet, to do so, it is also necessary that every single human being cultivates the experience of his ethical conscience. otherwise it’s all useless. The Earth cannot be saved if man’s heart and his intelligence are not saved.

Eppure, continuo a credere che esista una coscienza etica al di sopra della legge; si badi, non della giustizia, ma di quelle leggi che sono modellate sugli interessi degli individui e non sulla coscienza.
È una distinzione importante da fare, soprattutto in un’epoca come la nostra in cui i poteri forti si sostituiscono alla giustizia ed eguaglianza sociale e umana.
Credo ci debba essere un modo in cui le persone possano oltrepassare i limiti della giustizia di comodo e delle leggi a proprio consumo per costruire un senso etico della vita e delle relazioni. Non è normale che un uomo onesto che dedica la sua vita non solo a salvare gli innocenti, ma a creare degli stili di vita che si frappongano tra le discriminazioni e le paure individuali per costruire comunità in cui la condivisione culturale e la vicinanza umana siano il fondamento, ebbene, questo uomo debba essere punito proprio per questi motivi e, invece, un altro uomo, che inneggia alla violenza, ai soprusi, che costruisce odio e fomenta rancori, che difende i meschini da cui lascia abilitare il proprio potere, che non giustifica mai le sue colpe e/o responsabilità, ebbene, un siffatto uomo possa essere libero di inveire e svuotare di senso e di umanità il nostro tempo presente.
È qui, in questi casi, che la coscienza etica deve prevalere, è qui, in questi casi, che la cultura della verità deve superare quella delle mistificazioni. Agire secondo coscienza non può condurre gli individui ad agire secondo sé stessi, ma anzi, talvolta anche ad andare contro sé stessi, poiché la coscienza etica è al di sopra dell’individuo e privilegia e costruisce il legame con l’intera società di uguali sottoposti allo stesso giudizio.
Ecco, credo che a partire dalle piccole cose si debba imparare l’esercizio e la pratica della coscienza etica, credo che sia il tempo di mettere da parte i protagonismi e coltivare l’umanità.
Oggi, ed è fondamentale, si fa tanto un parlare di ecologia, di salvare il benessere naturale della Terra, ed è così che bisogna fare, eppure, per farlo, è necessario anche che ogni singolo essere umano coltivi l’esperienza della sua coscienza etica, altrimenti è tutto inutile. Non si può salvare la Terra se non si salva il cuore dell’uomo e la sua intelligenza.
