Ecco, mi sono immersa nella lettura di “La stampa addosso. Giancarlo Siani. La vera storia dell’inchiesta” (Armando D’Alterio, Guida editori, 2020 in regalo con Repubblica il 21 settembre u.s.) e non ne sono uscita più, né voglio, perché restare nella dimensione umana e sociale di Giancarlo Siani, significa dare un valore e un significato alle proprie scelte, alla ricerca di verità e giustizia, alla fedeltà alla persona e ai suoi diritti opponendosi con naturalezza ai soprusi, ben sapendo che da essi possa arrivarci il male.
Ebbene, come scrittrice, come persona che è stata docente e continua a impiegare la cultura come strumento di formazione umana, non posso non sentirmi coinvolta dalla storia di Giancarlo Siani che non termina, per me, con il suo assassinio, ma prosegue nella libertà delle mie stesse scelte quotidiane nel mio lavoro di scrittrice, cioè la testimonianza.
Giancarlo Siani fu assassinato il 23 settembre 1985 dalla camorra. Un assassinio ordinato dal boss Nuvoletta, per volontà del mafioso Totò Riina a causa di un articolo che Giancarlo Siani aveva scritto il 10 giugno 1985 in cui rivelava le trame sotterranee del potere condiviso tra i Nuvoletta e i Casalesi. Fu assassinato nella sua auto, una Citroën Mehari, sotto casa sua, intorno alle 20:25.
Ricordo, qualche anno dopo, che suo fratello, Paolo Siani, venne presso la scuola dove insegnavo per chiedere di parlare ai ragazzi, gli fu rifiutato. Ricordo il silenzio drammatico in sala professori, quando, con compostezza, Paolo Siani prese la sua valigetta, il suo soprabito e, mesto, uscì. Provai una grande vergogna. Da allora, ogni anno, anche senza la testimonianza del fratello di Giancarlo Siani, ho parlato di lui nelle mie classi, ho costruito percorsi, fatto ricerche insieme ai miei ragazzi, affinché non solo Giancarlo non venisse dimenticato, ma diventasse un modello. Oggi, quando spesso gli adulti cedono il loro ruolo al caso, il giovane Giancarlo è una guida, come lo fu in quegli anni per i miei studenti.
Ecco, non dirò nulla dell’inchiesta svolta in maniera approfondita dall’autore del libro, Armando D’Alterio, né dello stile narrativo scelto, perché voglio che cerchiate questo libro, lo leggiate, ne abbiate consapevolezza e possiate trarne insegnamento e guida nella scelta di una vita onesta e consapevole.
“La stampa addosso. Giancarlo Siani. La vera storia dell’inchiesta” di Armando D’Alterio (Guida editori, 2020), non è “solo” un libro necessario, ma un invito a cercare e credere nella verità e nella giustizia attraverso l’educazione e la formazione dei giovani, insegnando loro l’amore “Così si abbattono i muri che a volte separano persino gli uomini onesti”.

Well, I immersed myself in reading “La stampa addosso. Giancarlo Siani. La vera storia dell’inchiesta” (Armando D’Alterio, Editors’ Guide, 2020 as a gift with Repubblica on September 21st) and I have not come out anymore, nor I want, because staying in the human and social dimension of Giancarlo Siani means giving value and meaning to one’s choices, in search of truth and justice, fidelity to the person and his rights, naturally opposing abuses, knowing full well that evil may come there.
Well, as a writer, as a person who has been a teacher and continues to use culture as an instrument of human formation, I cannot help but feel involved in the story of Giancarlo Siani which does not end, for me, with his murder, but continues in the freedom of my own daily choices in my work as a writer, that is, testimony.
Giancarlo Siani was assassinated on September 23, 1985 by the Camorra. An assassination ordered by the boss Nuvoletta, by the will of the mobster Totò Riina due to an article that Giancarlo Siani had written on 10 June 1985 in which he revealed the underground plots of the shared power between the Nuvoletta and the Casalesi. He was murdered in his car, a Citroën Mehari, outside his home, around 8:25 p.m.
I remember, a few years later, that his brother, Paolo Siani, came to the school where I taught to ask to speak to the students, he was refused. I remember the dramatic silence in the teachers’ lounge when, with composure, Paolo Siani took his briefcase, his overcoat and, sadly, went out. I felt a great shame. Since then, every year, even without the testimony of Giancarlo Siani’s brother, I have talked about him in my classes, I have built paths, done research with my kids, so that not only Giancarlo is not forgotten, but he becomes a model. Today, when adults often give their role to chance, the young Giancarlo is a guide, as he was in those years for my students.
Here, I will not say anything about the investigation carried out in a beautiful way by the author of the book, Armando D’Alterio, nor about the narrative style chosen, because I want you to look for this book, read it, be aware of it and be able to learn from it and guide you in choosing of an honest and conscious life.

La vera storia dell’inchiesta” by Armando D’Alterio (Editors’ Guide, 2020), is not” only “a necessary book, but an invitation to seek and believe in truth and justice through the education and training of young people, teaching them love “Thus the walls that sometimes separate even honest men are torn down”.
